Sermon Title: The 67th Book of the Bible

Key Scripture:
2 Corinthians 3:2-3 – “You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”

A Missing Book

The Bible contains 66 books—from Genesis to Revelation.
But today, I want to talk about the 67th book of the Bible.

The 67th book is your life
It’s the unwritten book that people in your family, your workplace, your circle, and your community are reading every single day.

Illustration:
Imagine a neighbor who never steps foot inside a church, never opens a Bible, and never hears a sermon.
The only “Bible” they might ever read… is you.
The question is: What story are they reading?

Point 1: We Are Living Letters

2 Corinthians 3:2 – “You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone.”

Paul tells the Corinthians that our lives are letters—our words, actions, and attitudes communicate who Jesus is.

People may never read John 3:16, but they will “read” your compassion when you forgive someone who wronged you.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

They may never read Ephesians 4:32, but they’ll “read” it when you are kind and tenderhearted in a world full of anger.

4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Your life is the only sermon some people will ever hear.

Question:
If someone only knew Jesus by observing you, what would they believe about Him?

Point 2: The Author Is the Holy Spirit

2 Corinthians 3:3 – “Written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”

You are not the author of your story—God is.
When you surrendered your life to Christ, the Holy Spirit began writing His story on your heart.
Just as the Bible was divinely inspired, your life should be Spirit-led and Spirit-filled.

Application:

Daily time in prayer and Scripture gives the Spirit the “pen” to write His will in your life.
When you resist God’s leading, you try to write your own story—and that always ends in chaos.

Illustration:
When a child scribbles on paper, the result is messy.
But when a skilled calligrapher writes, it’s beautiful and meaningful.
When you let God write your life, the result is a masterpiece.

Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Point 3: The World Is Reading

Matthew 5:14-16 – “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Your life is on display for others to see—whether you realize it or not. OR WANT IT TO OR NOT.

Your family is reading how you handle stress and conflict.
Your co-workers are reading how you deal with temptation and honesty. (THIS ONE I NEED TO WORK ON)
Your neighbors are reading how you serve and love others.

Imagine someone flipping through the pages of your life:

Page 1: How you treat your spouse or children.
Page 2: How you act when no one is watching.
Page 3: How you respond when life doesn’t go your way.
Page 4: Do you gossip and talk about people
THESE ARE JUST A FEW

Are they seeing Christ in you, or just more of the world?

Point 4: Living a Clear, Consistent Story

Philippians 1:27 – “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.”

To be an effective “67th book,” your life must be:

Clear – People should easily see Jesus in you without confusion.
Consistent – Your walk should match your talk.
Compelling – Others should be drawn to Christ because of the way you live.

Illustration:
Have you ever tried to read a book with missing pages or mixed-up chapters?
It’s frustrating and confusing.
That’s how the world feels when our faith is inconsistent.

Point 5: Finishing Well

2 Timothy 4:7 – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Your story isn’t complete yet, but one day the final chapter will be written.
When you stand before God, may He say:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)

Challenge:
Start today writing a story worth reading—a life that points others to Jesus.

Practical Ways to Be the 67th Book

Stay Connected to the Author – Daily prayer and Bible reading.
Live with Integrity – Let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no.
Serve Others – Show Christ’s love through action.
Share Your Testimony – Tell others what God has done in your life.
Walk in Humility – Admit mistakes and model grace.

Conclusion

The Bible has 66 books, but the 67th book is you.
The question today is: What kind of story are you telling the world?

Are you writing a story of love, grace, and forgiveness?
Or are you writing a story of selfishness and sin?

Your life might be the only Bible someone ever reads.

No one in perfect, WE MAKES MISTAKE, LOOK AT DAVID Know as a man after God’s own Heart and many others

Matthew 5:16 – “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Closing Prayer

“Lord, thank You for writing Your story in our hearts.
Help us to be faithful living letters, clear and consistent testimonies of Your grace.
May others see Christ in us and be drawn to You through our lives.
Guide our steps, direct our words, and let our lives be the 67th book that points others to Jesus.
In His precious name, Amen.”
